The key to Ryuseiha ikebana is the approach known as "the aspects of plants". The arranger is not bound by set rules of composition but encounters the plant materials directly, approaching them with a new attitude. This is done in four basic ways: changing the viewpoint, modifying the materials, trying new combinations of materials, and establishing a situation. Here are some examples of arrangements based on several of these methods.
