The key to Ryusei-ha ikebana is the approach known as
gthe faces of plants.h The arranger is not bound by set rules of composition
but encounters the plant materials directly, approaching them with a new
attitude. This is done in four basic ways: changing the viewpoint, modifying
the materials, trying new combinations of materials, and establishing
a situation. Here are some examples of arrangements based on several of
these methods.
